CHICAGO --- One of the best marks in the NAIA this spring was recorded by St. Ambrose University's Mick Saloninas (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Annah Miller (Manito, Ill.) earned a pair of first-place finishes. For these performances, both individuals were recognized by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday as the weekly men's outdoor field and women's outdoor field athletes of the week, respectively.

Saloninas claimed the honor by recording the 10th-best mark in the NAIA this spring in the shot put event. His "B" standard effort of 51 feet, 10.5 inches placed first at the St. Ambrose Spring Opener on Saturday.

The junior also had a fourth-place showing in the discus, where he registered a distance of 124-2.

Miller won both the shot put and discus events at the St. Ambrose Spring Opener on Saturday.  The sophomore recorded a distance of 41 feet, 7 inches in the shot put and a 128-4 mark in the discus.
