Pieroni named to CSC Academic All-America Team

2022-23 CSC Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team

Michaela Pieroni was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team. She was one of 17 student-athletes named to the NAIA first team.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Pieroni, from Crystal Lake, Ill., recently completed her senior season with the SAU cross country and track & field teams. She is a two-time NAIA National Cross Country Championship qualifier, earning All-American honors with a 26th-place finish in 2020. That was the highest finish at nationals by a Bee. That spring, she became the St. Ambrose women's track & field program's first All-American distance runner as she finished eighth in the 5000-meter run at the 2021 NAIA Indoor Championships. Pieroni, a multiple-time academic all-conference selection and NAIA Scholar-Athlete, is majoring in Human Performance & Fitness.
