Bees down Dubuque 6-3
The St. Ambrose women's tennis team defeated the University of Dubuque 6-3 on Thursday afternoon. This win is the Bees' second in a row and their fourth during the spring portion of their season.
The Bees got off to a strong start in doubles winning two out of the three matches. Julia Turek and Paige Bily won 8-7 at No. 1 doubles and Kate Jones and Sarah Baxter won 8-7 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Paige Owens won 7-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Jenna Smithmeyer won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, Jones won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, and Abbie Erramouspe won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Up next for the Bees is a home dual against Central College on Friday followed by a road dual against Olivet Nazarene on Saturday in their CCAC opener.
