Bees drop duals to Upper Iowa, Luther to end the fall

The Bees closed out the fall season by dropping a pair of duals in Decorah, Iowa, Saturday. St. Ambrose lost to Upper Iowa 6-1 before ending the day with a 4-3 loss to host Luther.

SAU picked up three singles victories in the loss to Luther.

Kelsey Jaeger rebounded after dropping the second set to post a 6-0, 3-6, 10-8 win at No. 5 singles. Kaylee Camp wasn't as fortunate in her third-set super-tiebreaker. She fell 1-6, 6-3, 10-2 at No. 2.

Kiersten Housenga also won for St. Ambrose, taking a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 1. Maggie Sullivan earned a victory after her opponent retired.

Housenga and Jaeger grabbed a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles in the loss.

Paige Bily provided the Bees' only win in the setback to Upper Iowa. She needed a second-set tiebreaker in her 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) victory at No. 6 singles.

St. Ambrose (2-6) will resume its season in February.
