Hassim and Antonanzas named to CSC Academic All-America Team

CSC Academic All-America Women's Swimming & Diving Team

Leyre Antonanzas and Mikhi Hassim were recognized for their efforts in the classroom and in the pool as they were named to the NAIA Swimming & Diving Academic All-America Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Hassim was named to the 10-member men's first team while Antonanzas was one of 10 named to the women's first team. It was the second straight year the pair has earned the award.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Antonanzas, a junior from Pamplona, Spain, is majoring in Psychology. She is a five-time NAIA All-American in the pool, finishing inside the top eight in the 200-yard individual medley in each of the last three seasons (eighth in 2022 and 2023, seventh in 2024). She also finished sixth in the 400-yard individual medley in 2023 and was eighth in the event in 2022. Antonanzas holds school records in the 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard individual medley and 400-yard individual medley, along with four relays.

Hassim, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, is majoring in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He is a three-time NAIA All-American. His best finish at the NAIA Championships came this season when he took sixth in the 200-yard individual medley. He was seventh in the 100-yard butterfly in 2022 and placed eighth in the event this year. Hassim holds individual school records in the 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard individual medley and 200-yard individual medley. He is also a part of all five school-record relay teams.
