Six Bees score in double-digit win over Calumet

In their final regular-season contest, St. Ambrose exploded for 13 goals Tuesday night in Whiting, Ind. Taylor DeSplinter scored four and Kendall Wendt had a hat trick in the victory, while Rachel Willette and Molly McLaughlin combined for the shutout. The 13-0 win over Calumet means SAU will be the No. 3 seed in the CCAC tournament.

The Bees wasted little time to get on the scoreboard as Mary Evans found Adriane Latham off a corner kick in the 4th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Wendt would get goals in the 10th and 15th minutes, with DeSplinter recording an assist on the second goal. DeSplinter would score in the 17th minute off a feed from Kaitlyn Brunson, and then DeSplinter would find Haillee Wilson in the 18th minute to give St. Ambrose a 5-0 lead. In the 27th minute, Isabella Crawford found Wilson for the goal, and just over a minute later, Crawford found Grace Kuchar to make it 7-0. DeSplinter would score three more times in the 36th (assist Natalie Miller), 37th (assist Wilson), and 38th minutes, giving her a CCAC-leading 19 goals on the season to make it 10-0 at the break.

Wendt would net her first hat trick of the season in the 50th minute off an assist from Wilson. Wilson found Latham in the 61st minute for a score, and Brunson passed to Genevieve Bowyer in the 67th minute to round out the scoring for the 13-0 final.

Willette and McLaughlin split time in goal and were never threatened as St. Ambrose outshot Calumet 30-0. Eleven different Bees recorded a shot during the match.

SAU will now host Judson University on Saturday, November 5th in the CCAC Tournament quarterfinals. Game time will be at Noon, and admission will be charged. The Bees won the regular-season contest 4-0 on October 15th.
