Winning streak snapped against Cardinal Stritch

St. Ambrose saw its four-game winning streak come to a close Tuesday afternoon in Milwaukee. The Wolves scored in the 81st minute to take the 3-2 victory from the Bees. SAU is now 8-3-3 overall and 7-1-2 in the CCAC. Cardinal Stritch moves to 10-3-1, and 8-1-1 in conference.

Down 1-0 after less than 10 minutes of play, Kaitlyn Brunson put SAU back even. Brunson took a free kick from outside of the box and used her left foot to place a strike past the Wolves keeper in the 19th minute to make it 1-1. Mary Evans would give St. Ambrose a lead in the 38th minute after directing a pass from Abigail Goff into the back of the net. The Bees would take the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

St. Ambrose struggled in the second half as they were outshot 13-0 in the period. Rachel Willette made six saves in the half before Cardinal Stritch found the tying goal in the 68th minute. The Wolves would get the game-winner in the 81st minute from Lisa Schot to take a 3-2 win.

Willette finished with eight saves in the match. Brunson recorded three shots, while Taylor DeSplinter had two. Evans, Kendall Wendt, and Haillee Wilson had the other shots for St. Ambrose.

Next up for the Bees is a trip to Trinity International on Saturday, October 22nd for a noon start.
