Six players score in victory over Indiana Northwest

St. Ambrose used a balanced attack Wednesday afternoon in Crown Point, Ind., scoring four times in each half to take an 8-0 win over Indiana Northwest. Six different Bees recorded a goal while reigning CCAC Defensive Player of the Week Rachel Willette notched her fourth clean sheet of the season.

SAU (7-2-3, 6-0-2 CCAC) was on the offensive from the get-go, with Haillee Wilson forcing a defensive save by the RedHawks (4-6-2, 2-6 CCAC) in the first minute. Three shots from Grace Kuchar and one from Kaitlyn Brunson followed. In the 17th minute, Willette made one of her three saves to keep the game tied. The Bees got the breakthrough in the 19th minute when Taylor DeSplinter found Brunson for the score. Just a minute later, St. Ambrose would make it 2-0 with a goal from Wilson. SAU would add two more in quick succession with Brunson finding DeSplinter in the 36th minute to make it 3-0. Brunson would then find Wilson in the 37th minute for a 4-0 lead at the break.

After a save from Willette in the 51st minute, the Bees got back on the scoreboard in the 62nd minute. Brunson found the back of the net once again, this time with the help of Mary Evans. Margaret Hamilton made it 6-0 in the 64th minute, and Kendall Wendt added her name to the scoresheet in the 66th. SAU's final goal of the match came in the 90th minute courtesy of Adriane Latham.

Willette, Latham, Natalie Miller, and Daniya El-Zein played the full 90 for St. Ambrose. The Bees outshot their opponent 22-3 and had a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

St. Ambrose will return home on Saturday, October 15th at 3:30 p.m. to face the Judson Eagles.
