Five Bees score in win over IU-South Bend

Five different Bees found the back of the net Saturday as St. Ambrose rolled to an 8-0 victory over Indiana South Bend. The win moves SAU to 2-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCAC, while the Titans drop to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference. 

St. Ambrose dominated the stat line - outshooting their opponent 37-1 and had a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. Thirteen Bees registered a shot on goal. 

SAU got things going early with Kendall Wendt finding Kaitlyn Brunson for the score in the 3rd minute. Not long after, the Bees doubled their lead when Taylor DeSplinter found Hailee Wilson in the 4th minute. St. Ambrose put in one more before halftime, with Alyssa Schichner finding Genevieve Bowyer in the 39th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead. 

The Bees continued the quick start in the second half, with DeSplinter scoring twice in five minutes to give SAU a 5-0 lead at the 49:46 mark. Abigail Goff had the assist on DeSplinter's first goal and Brunson was credited with the assist on the second. It was then Wilson's turn for back-to-back scores. Daniya El-Zein found Wilson in the 52nd minute to give St. Ambrose a six-goal lead. Wilson netted her third goal of the game in the 58th minute off an assist from Mary Evans. Schichner would get the final goal of the night in the 74th minute on a pass from Bowyer for the 8-0 final. 

Evans and Wilson finished with six shots each. Wendt had four, and Bowyer and DeSplinter each had three. Rachel Willette was credited with one save in the win.
