Bees fall at Judson

St. Ambrose took on Judson University on Saturday morning in a CCAC matchup in Crystal Lake, Ill. The home team came away with a 2-1 victory. The loss gives the Bees a 9-5 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the conference. 

The Eagles notched their two goals early, getting their scores in the first 10 minutes of the match. Judson had an opportunity to make it 3-0 in the 15th minute, but a shot from Alondra Blanco hit the post. The Bees had nine shots in the first half but could not find the back of the net as shots from Morgan WahlenKeeli FrerichsKaitlyn Brunson, and Alyssa Schichner were all saved by Judson's goalie. 

SAU pushed to get on the board coming out of halftime as Frerichs, Erin Smothers, and Brunson recorded shot attempts. St. Ambrose got their goal in the 74th minute from Brunson on a free-kick. The Bees had a chance for the equalizer in the 88th minute, but Riley Garcia's header was high. 

Rachel Willette made three saves in the loss. 

St. Ambrose will look to rebound on Wednesday as they face (RV) Cardinal Stritch at home at 5:30 p.m.
