Kuchar, Wahlen net brace in win over RedHawks

Grace Kuchar and Morgan Wahlen scored two goals each as St. Ambrose rolled to a 7-0 win over Indiana University - Northwest on Tuesday night in Davenport. The victory is the fifth straight win for the Bees and moves them to 9-4 overall and 7-2 in the CCAC. 

Taylor DeSplinter got the scoring started for SAU. In the 17th minute, Mary Evans sent a ball from midfield, and DeSplinter was able to get around the keeper for the 1-0 lead. Kuchar would score her first of the game in the 32nd minute after Adriane Latham put a long throw-in into the box. The Bees would head into halftime with a two-goal lead. 

The scoring picked up in the second half, with Kaitlyn Brunson netting a goal in the 53rd minute off an assist from Natalie Miller. In the 58th minute, Genevieve Bowyer sent in a cross that found Kuchar for her second goal of the night and a 4-0 St. Ambrose lead. Morgan Wahlen would get in on the action in the 60th minute with help from Brunson and DeSplinter. Just two minutes later, Wahlen would add her second of the game, and team-leading 10th goal of the season. Riley Garcia would get the final goal of the night in the 71st minute, scoring on a shot from outside the box. 

SAU put up 28 shots while limiting the RedHawks to just three. Molly McLaughlin was credited with three saves in the win. Three Bees made their St. Ambrose debut - Nuria Montouto, Hallie Nelson, and Megan Gerasch.

The Bees will take on Judson University next on Saturday, October 16th. The game will be at the MAC Sports Complex in Crystal Lake, Ill. at 11:45 a.m.
