Bees let lead slip at Holy Cross

St. Ambrose couldn't hold on to a two-goal lead Saturday morning in South Bend, Ind. as Holy Cross would come back for a 3-2 victory over the Bees.

SAU got the scoring started in the 27th minute when Adriane Latham found Margaret Hamilton for the goal. The Bees would have a chance to add to their lead in the 31st minute, but Riley Garcia's attempt was saved. St. Ambrose would lead 1-0 at the half.

Garcia would find the back of the net early in the second half to give the Bees a two-goal lead In the 52nd minute. Morgan Wahlen was credited with the assist. Holy Cross would respond quickly - scoring in the 54th minute and the 57th minute - to tie up the game at two goals apiece. St. Ambrose would have chances from Wahlen and Mary Evans, but both opportunities were blocked. Holy Cross would find the game-winner in the 69th minute from Bella Cuevas. SAU would have one final chance, but Hamilton's header in the 83rd minute went wide.

Molly McLaughlin was credited with two saves. With the loss, SAU moves to 4-4 in the CCAC and 6-6 overall.
