SAU beaten by Cardinal Stritch in OT

The SAU women's soccer team couldn't find the back of the net on Saturday afternoon as they fell 1-0 in overtime to Cardinal Stritch University.

It was a chippy affair as St. Ambrose was called for 17 fouls on the day. Neither team had many chances in the first half - CSU's chance went wide, while Mia Lisanti and Margaret Hamilton both had opportunities blocked. Lisanti had a chance in the 34th minute for a goal, but it was saved by the Wolves keeper.

The second half was much of the same with each team only getting one shot in the half. The game would head to overtime, and Cardinal Stritch would find the back of the net just over a minute into the extra period to end the game.

Each team only mustered four shots each on the day. The Bees had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. Molly McLaughlin had one save in the loss.

The Bees will travel to Palos Heights, Ill. on March 9th to take on Trinity Christian at 3 p.m.
