SAU falls 2-1 against Judson

St. Ambrose took on Judson University Tuesday afternoon at the TPK Sports Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The Bees had some early chances to score, but shots from Morgan Vercautren and Mia Lisanti went wide. In the 30th minute, Judson found the back of the net with a goal from Alondra Blanco. The Eagles would take the 1-0 lead into halftime.

SAU came out of the half with some intensity. Erin Smothers dribbled down the right side of the field past Judson defenders and found Margaret Hamilton, but her shot was saved. The Bees kept pushing and eventually found the tying goal in the 55th minute. Morgan Wahlen floated a pass that found Hamilton. Hamilton's first attempt went off the post, but she was able to gather the rebound and knock it in. Six minutes later, Riley Garcia had a chance to put St. Ambrose ahead, but the attempt was stopped. The Eagles found the net in the 80th minute that proved to be the difference.

The Bees are back in action on Saturday afternoon facing CCAC foe Trinity International at 2 p.m.
