Bees score four in season opening victory

The St. Ambrose women's soccer team came away with a decisive victory over Waldorf University on Saturday night at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex, winning 4-0.

Freshman Mia Lisanti got the scoring started with the lone first-half goal less than 25 minutes into the game. The Bees ramped up the intensity in the second, adding three more goals. Margaret Hamilton netted a goal in the 59th minute off an assist from Keeli Frerichs. Tori Timerman put the Bees up 3-0 almost 20 minutes later. A perfectly weighted through ball from Hamilton to Timerman accounted for the final goal of the night.

The SAU defensive line of Erin Smothers, Adriane Latham, Haley Salander, and Morgan Vercautren was strong, only allowing a total of four shots. Molly McLaughlin was credited with two saves.

St. Ambrose will host Viterbo University next on October 17th at 3 p.m.
