Bees cannot keep pace with the Flyers

The St. Ambrose women's lacrosse team started their season vs Lewis University on a wonderful, sunny afternoon. The Bees had a full head of steam coming into the first quarter but couldn't outlast the Flyers. Claire Jeffers scored the first goal of the season for SAU as they held the Flyers at 7-3 going into the second period. That is when things slowed for the Bees, only scoring one goal in the second period. The second half proved to be a similar story, scoring three goals throughout the remainder of the game. SAU could not wear out Lewis University, a Division 2 school, losing 25-7.

Anabelle Brown dominated for the Bees by scoring three goals and chipping in one assist. Raegan Dotterer, Jayden Ambrose, Lauren Hoesly, and Claire Jeffers each scored a goal for the Bees. While Delaney Austad and Sarah Diehl each had an assist in the afternoon. Saige Carlton had a team high four ground balls.

Saige Carlton and Corinne Pinto shared duty in the net. Saige Carlton earned five saves between the pipes. St. Ambrose was 100% on free position shots.

The Bees will take on Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan. next Sunday, Mar. 3. Gametime is set for 3 p.m.
