Goals galore in win over Missouri Valley

St. Ambrose had thirteen players score a goal and produced their highest scoring output this season as they rolled to a 25-5 victory over Missouri Valley Saturday in Marshall, Mo.

The Bees scored the first 15 goals of the match spanning the first and second quarters. Lauren Hoesly (three), Jayden Ambrose (three), Audrey Warner (two), Abigail Varkalis, Mackenzie Zions, Anabelle Brown, Morgan O'Malley, Abby Messina, Claire Jeffers, and Maggie Samson scored for SAU. Missouri Valley scored with 7:42 until halftime, but Zions and Warner netted goals for a 17-1 halftime lead.

St. Ambrose was dominant coming out of the break, shutting out MV and allowing just three shots in the third quarter. Saige Carlton netted two goals in the period, and Alivia Uebersetzig, Brown, and Hannah Reynolds added scores for a 22-1 lead after three.

Missouri Valley scored the first two goals of the final quarter to make it 22-3 with 10:08 left. Hoesly netted two in the quarter and Ambrose added one, while MV added two more scores for the 25-5 final.

Carlton made three saves in 30 minutes, and Sophie McPeek was credited with six saves.

Up next for the Bees is their final conference game against Culver-Stockton on Saturday, April 15 at 5 p.m. in Canton, Missouri.
