SAU rolls past Franklin College

St. Ambrose scored thirteen straight goals and rolled to an 18-6 victory over DIII Franklin College Sunday in Franklin, Indiana.

Seven different Bees scored in the win, led by Maddie Wiltrout's five goals, and Sarah Diehl's four.

After going down 2-0 early, Audrey Warner's goal with 10:29 remaining in the first quarter sparked a 13-0 run for the Bees that spanned through the third quarter. SAU led 14-4 at the end of the third quarter. Mackenzie Zions, Hannah Reynolds, Diehl, and Wiltrout scored for St. Ambrose in the fourth. Franklin put in two goals in the final quarter for the 18-6 final score.

Maggie Samson made two saves in 20 minutes, while Saige Carlton recorded three in 40 minutes. Zions scored three times for SAU, Warner had two goals and two assists, and Jayden Ambrose scored twice. Abigail Varkalis scored as well for St. Ambrose. Anabelle Brown and Wiltrout had a game-high six draw controls.

The Bees will head to Florida for their spring break trip and take on (RV) Ave Maria on March 20th, No. 4 Keiser on March 21st, and St. Thomas on March 22nd.
