Wiltrout's winner in overtime puts SAU past Marian

Maddie Wiltrout scored three straight goals Friday night in Indianapolis, Indiana when St. Ambrose needed them. Her first cut Marian's lead to one with 4:31 to go, then came the game-tying goal with a minute left to send the match to overtime. In overtime, Sarah Diehl found Wiltrout to give SAU a 13-12 win.

The Bees (2-0) looked to be in control after taking a 7-3 lead in the third quarter on an Anabelle Brown score. But Marian (3-2) didn't back down, scoring the next three to make it a one-score game with 5:51 to go in the third. SAU would take a 9-7 lead heading into the final frame.

Diehl scored on a free position attempt to start the fourth to make it 10-7, but the home team battled back. MU scored the next five goals to take a 12-10 lead with 4:57 left before the heroics of Wiltrout.

Tied 2-2 in the first, St. Ambrose took the lead on scores from Mackenzie Zions and Audrey Warner for a 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter. The Bees scored twice more in the second, and held Marion to one for a 6-3 halftime lead.
