Wiltrout nets three in last 45 seconds; Bees comeback against MVC for win

Down 9-7, Maddie Wiltrout rattled off three goals in the last 45 seconds to give St. Ambrose (9-1, 6-1 KCAC) a 10-9 win over Missouri Valley (5-5, 5-5 KCAC) Saturday afternoon in Marshall, Mo.

Wiltrout scored a man-up goal with 45 seconds left on a Morgan Curzon assist to get the Bees within one. After a draw control win by Erin Green, Wiltrout netted another just 21 seconds later for a man-up score after the pass from Delaney Austad to tie up the game. Austad and Wiltrout would connect once again as Wiltrout scored with 1.5 seconds left to give SAU the victory.

The first half was a low-scoring affair. Green got the Bees on the board first with the assist to Wiltrout just 47 seconds into the game. Dazah Regusters would give the Vikings the lead on a free position shot with 5:02 remaining. Maggie Samson made a save with 32 seconds left in the half as SAU would head into halftime down one.

The teams traded goals to start the second half, but Missouri Valley went on a three-goal run to push their lead to 8-4. SAU countered with a three-goal run of their own with Wiltrout (from Austad), Katie Baranski, and Austad (from Lauren Koutouzis) finding the back of the net to get within one score with 8:17 remaining. The Vikings would get one more goal with 7:20 remaining to take a 9-7 lead.
