Bees remain undefeated with win at Culver-Stockton

Another game, another win for the St. Ambrose women's lacrosse team. SAU traveled to Canton, Mo. Saturday night and defeated Culver-Stockton College, 18-8. The win gives the Bees their best start in program history moving them to 7-0, and 4-0 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

After the Wildcats took an early 1-0 lead, St. Ambrose responded with goals from Delaney Austad, Maddie Wiltrout, and Lauren Hoesly to regain the lead. Culver-Stockton would get one back to cut the deficit to one, but the home team wouldn't get any closer. The Bees would go on a five-goal run to push the lead to 8-2 before the hosts would find the back of the net again. SAU closed out the half with goals from Austad, Alivia Uebersetzig, and Wiltrout to take an 11-3 halftime lead.

The Wildcats were the first to score in the second adding two goals to cut the lead to 11-5. But St. Ambrose went on two three-goal runs in between a score from Culver-Stockton to grow the lead to 17-6. The home team would score twice more in between a goal from Lauren Koutouzis for the final tally of 18-8.

Austad led the way for the Bees scoring five. Wiltrout added four and Erin Green had three. Maggie Samson made three saves and Allison Claus made two in the net.

St. Ambrose will look to remain perfect on March 27th as they take on Missouri Baptist in St. Louis at 10 a.m.
