Kevin Kwak, PGA, was named the St. Ambrose women's golf coach on Aug. 12, 2022. Kwak has an extensive background in golf. A two-year member of the varsity team at Millikin University, he has more than three decades worth of experience in the golf world.

In the 2022-23 season, Kwak helped the Bees qualify for the NAIA Women's Golf Championships, played in the Quad Cities at TPC Deere Run. St. Ambrose will serve as host of the national championships in both 2023 and 2024.

Kwak helped SAU finish second at the 2023 CCAC Championships. That was one of three runner-up finishes for the team that year.

Currently the Director for the Under Armour Junior Golf Tour for the Quad-City region, Kwak has served as the PGA Head Professional and Director of Golf at the Davenport Country Club in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, at Wynstone Golf Club in North Barrington, Ill., and at Crow Valley Golf Club in Davenport, Iowa. He was elected as a PGA Professional in 1994 before taking a leave of absence back in 2012. He was elected back into membership in May 2023.

"It is an honor and privilege to be selected as the head women's golf coach at St. Ambrose University," Kwak said. "I am blessed that I have once again found work with the game that I am so passionate about. My family and I are excited about this opportunity that brings us back to the game that has been so good to us for so many years. I am enthusiastic about being a trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, supportive and positive role model, and coach to not only my current players but also to the future players that choose to make St. Ambrose University their educational institution. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experiences and expertise of the game with our team. I am enthused about developing long-standing relationships with my players, fellow members of the athletic staff and also the faculty and staff of St. Ambrose University. I am proud to be a Bee."

Kwak has also worked as the Central Regional Marketing Manager for PGA Magazine Publications and Marketing Group.

"We were blessed to find a person with Kevin's background in golf, connections in the area, and desire to continue to build the program and see the process through with some longevity," SAU Director of Athletics Mike Holmes said.

Kwak will maintain his role as an independent contractor with Advantage Advertising in Bettendorf, Iowa, a company he has worked with for the last nine years.
