Bees get runner-up finish at Battle at the Creek
St. Ambrose finished second at the Saint Xavier Battle at the Creek played at the Creek at Morris Country Club in Morris, Ill., Saturday.
All three complete teams finished within seven shots of each other with SAU finishing just two shots behind Judson. The Eagles won with a 337 while the Bees finished at 339. Saint Xavier totaled a 344.
Kara Williams led St. Ambrose with an 81, good for second overall. She finished two shots back of individual medalist Grace Kidwell of Judson, who shot a 79.
Audrey McAleer and Caitlin McDonagh each shot an 82 to tie for third place. Aleanna Mendoza came in with a 94 and Emma Cameron carded a 97 for the Bees.
Governors State, Trinity Christian and Joliet JC also had individuals competing.
St. Ambrose will compete in the Loras Duhawk Invitational at the Meadows in Asbury, Iowa, Sunday and Monday.
