Speer and Lytle lead Bees to third-place finish at Highland Championship

St. Ambrose women's golf competed in the two-day Highland Championship at Highland Springs Golf Course on Friday and Saturday in Rock Island, Ill. The Bees shot a 337 on day one and played 14 strokes better on day two to finish with a 660. SAU finished in third place behind Augustana (605) and UW-Platteville (653).

Senior Katherine Speer shot a 155 (79-76) to pace SAU with a fourth-place finish. Junior Amara Lytle tied for 10th with a 164 (84-80). Senior Kara Williams (84-81) and Sophomore Gabrielle Langlois (90-86) rounded out the overall team score. Senior Leah Sullivan (91-90) also competed for the Bees.

A second St. Ambrose team comprised of Caitlin McDonagh (96-87), Emma Cameron (90-96), Aleanna Mendoza (96-92), and Anna Hurning (107-89) placed ninth out of twelve teams.

Next up for SAU is the Mount Mercy Fall Invitational at Hunters Ridge in Marion, Iowa on September 9th and 10th.
