Lytle wins medalist honors as St. Ambrose takes second at CCAC Cup
Amara Lytle claimed individual medalist honors for the second time in her collegiate career by winning the CCAC Fall Preview Cup Monday at Cinder Ridge Golf Course in Wilmington, Ill.
Lytle shot a 4-over 76 to win the 27-player event by three strokes. She won the Augustana Viking Invitational last spring to close her freshman year.
The Bees had two players finish inside the top 10 as Katherine Speer carded a 94 to finish ninth overall.
Kara Williams shot a 97, Aleanna Mendoza fired a 102 and Leah Sullivan posted a 110 for St. Ambrose.
SAU finished second as a team with a 369. Olivet Nazarene won the five-team tournament with a 357. Trinity Christian took third with a 375.
The Bees will close the fall portion of their schedule next Monday and Tuesday at the Deere Run Invitational, played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
