Three Bees in the top four as SAU wins Fighting Bee Invitational

St. Ambrose won its only home event of the year by taking the Fighting Bee Invitational Saturday at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa.

Katherine Speer led three Bees in the top four with an 85, good for second overall in the four-team tournament. Amara Lytle was just a shot back in third place with an 86, and Maitlyn Sanders was fourth with an 87.

Kara Williams shot a 93 and Sam Cramer finished with a 99 for the Bees.

St. Ambrose totaled a 351 to win by 23 shots over second-place Viterbo.

Leah Sullivan carded a 91 to lead a second SAU team. She was joined by Emma Cameron (98), Alexis Dross (108) and Brooke Dross (109). That team shot a 406.

Augustana's Paige Breslin was the individual medalist after firing an 83.

St. Ambrose will next compete in the CCAC Championships Apr. 21-22 at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Ill.
