Sanders in the top 10 at CCAC Cup

Maitlyn Sanders finished in a two-way tie for seventh place to lead the Fighting Bees at the CCAC Cup on Monday and Tuesday.

Sanders fired an 84 in the first round Monday and improved her game by two strokes in the second round on Tuesday with an 82. Sanders' 164 tied with Olivet's Liz Miller for seventh-place overall.

Just outside of the top 10 were Amara Lytle and Katherine Speer. Lylte carded an 86 in back-to-back rounds to finish alone in 11th place while Speer shot back-to-back 87's to finish in a three-way tie for 12th place.

Kara Williams rounded out the scoring for the Fighting Bees with a 180 over the two-round event, finishing in a tie for 19th. Leah Sullivan fired a 198 to finish alone in 22nd.

The four Bees combined for a 692 to finish third in the five-team event. Olivet Nazarene took the team title with a 626.

Olivet's Margaux Catafort-Sil earned individual medalist honor's. She shot a 150 to win by two strokes.

The CCAC Cup was the final meet of the fall for the women's team. They will resume play in the spring.
