Bees take fourth at ONU Intercollegiate

St. Ambrose opened the spring portion of its schedule by taking fourth place at the two-day Olivet Nazarene Spring Intercollegiate played at Kankakee Elks Country Club in St. Anne, Ill.

Becki Meils led the Bees by finishing 16th overall. She shot rounds of 94 and 93 for a 187 total. Sam Cramer was just a shot back, shooting rounds of 90 and 98 for a 188, good for 18th overall.

Abi Scheidecker and Kara Williams ended in a tie for 24th with 192s. Williams opened with a 90 Friday before falling back with a 102 Saturday. Scheidecker put together back-to-back rounds of 96.

Katherine Speer finished with a 199 (95-104) for St. Ambrose.

Playing as individuals, Emma Cameron shot a 196 (98-98) and Leah Sullivan fired a 208 (101-107).

SAU was in third after a first-day 369 but was overtaken by St. Francis after shooting a final-day 389. The Bees finished with a 758.

Northwestern Ohio won the six-team event with a 631 total (311-320). Olivet Nazarene's Margaux Catafort-Silva was the individual medalist with a 2-over 146.

St. Ambrose will next compete in the TPC Deere Run Invite, hosted by William Penn, Monday and Tuesday.
