CCAC-leading seven Bees named to all-academic women's golf team

CCAC women's golf awards

CHICAGO --- Just like in men's golf where it shared top honors for most all-academic selections, St. Ambrose University turned in the most recipients on the women's golf side when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference office made the announcement of the 25-member team on Wednesday.

The Fighting Bee program gained a total of seven spots on the squad with Olivet Nazarene University placing one spot behind with its six recipients. University of St. Francis was next in line with four honorees.

The seven Bees making the list were Sam Cramer, Nicole Gordus, Elyse Kalb, Becki Meils, Aiko Mendoza, Maitlyn Sanders and Abi Scheidecker.

Other schools represented were Indiana University South Bend with three selections, Indiana University Northwest and Judson University with two each and Governors State University with one.

Twelve of those honored were named to the team one year ago, as well, with three of those also being a part of the group in 2018.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
