Men and women both place third at Kegel Classic

The St. Ambrose men and women each took third place at the 2024 Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill., Jan. 13-14.

A snowstorm reduced the field to a total of 67 teams, with the Bee men placing third out of 38 teams and the women taking third among 29 programs.

The SAU men finished with a total of 9184 to finish behind Mount Mercy (9460) and Lawrence Tech (9270). Wisconsin-Whitewater (9045) and Savannah Art and Design (8950) rounded out the top five.

Competing for St. Ambrose were Lucas Hersrud (1079-five games), Zach Greim (1025-five games), Devin Richards (760-four games), Justin Aboud (590-three games), Nic Kidd (571-three games), Anthony Mastroianni (432-two games), Kendric Siders (349-two games) and Lucas Finley (148-one game).

On the women's side, SAU finished with 7974 total pins. Savannah Art and Design won with 8503 while Mount Mercy was second at 8441. Lindenwood (7907) and Saint Xavier (7897) were next in line.

Sammy Upham (908-five games), Erin Williams (884-five games), Marissa Bills (862-five games), Kayla Devine (832-five games), Emily Barth (544-three games), Noelle Phillips (329-two games), Amanda Bohn and Tricia Alvarado competed for the Bees.

St. Ambrose will next compete in the Kohawk Open in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Feb. 3-4.
