Bio

After a successful playing career at St. Ambrose, Madeline Prestegaard returned to the Bee bench as an assistant coach beginning in the 2022-23 season. She is responsible for post player development, scouting, recruiting and coaching the junior varsity squad.

Prestegaard transferred to St. Ambrose to play for the Bees from 2019-2022 after beginning her collegiate career at the University of Vermont. She earned second team all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition following the 2020-21 season. A two-time academic all-CCAC selection in 2021 and 2022, Madeline also played alongside her younger sister, Jaynee, for three seasons at SAU.

"Madeline is a true Ambrosian and Queen Bee for this program," SAU head coach Zac Exume said. "She not only played here and had success, she then coached here. She is completely dedicated to being a positive role model and helping the team be successful as student-athletes which is why I am excited to have her return as an Assistant Coach for this program."

Prestegaard, from Amoby, Ill., graduated from Ashton-Franklin Center High School in 2018. She also played for the Midwest Wildcats AAU Program out of Rockford, Ill. She earned her degree in Chemistry from St. Ambrose in 2022.
