Brunson, Plumer and Prestegaard named to CSC Academic All-District Team

2022-23 CSC Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team

Kaitlyn Brunson, Anna Plumer and Jaynee Prestegaard were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

The three are starters for a St. Ambrose team which visits Olivet Nazarene for a CCAC Tournament quarterfinal matchup Wednesday night.

Brunson, a sophomore guard from Marion, Iowa, has started the last nine games for St. Ambrose. She is averaging 3.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest. Brunson was also selected to the CSC Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team in the fall, where she earned all-America honorable mention after scoring 13 goals and adding eight assists for SAU.

Plumer, a senior guard/forward from Canton, Ill., has started all 28 games for the Bees this season. She is averaging 10.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Plumer is currently among the conference leaders in 3-pointers made (sixth with 55) and free throw percentage (second at .851).

Prestegaard, a senior forward from Amboy, Ill., is averaging 14.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. She scored her 1,000th career point earlier this season and has tied a pair of single-game school records - field goals made without a miss (9-for-9 vs. Bellevue) and blocked shots (eight vs. Olivet Nazarene).

The three Bees will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid March.
