SAU pulls away for victory at Lincoln College

Kylie Wroblewski and Jaynee Prestegaard combined for 47 points to help St. Ambrose run its winning streak to 11 games with a 79-52 win at Lincoln College Saturday afternoon.

Wroblewski finished 11-of-15 from the floor, including a 3-of-5 mark from beyond the arc, in scoring 27 points. Prestegaard was 9-of-12 shooting in netting 20. She added a game-high 11 rebounds.

And while the Bees shot at nearly a 51-percent clip, the Lynx were limited to a 19-of-76 (25 percent) effort from the field.

SAU led just 19-15 after the first quarter but pulled away from there. The Bees built a 39-29 lead at the half and extended that to 57-40 after three.

Shayne Smith scored 11 points to give St. Ambrose three players in double figures.

Anna Plumer came off the bench to knock down a pair of 3-pointers to score six points. Madeline Prestegaard scored five and Olivia Cantu added four. Cantu and Plumer each pulled down six rebounds while Maddy Cash, Wroblewski and Madeline Prestegaard had five apiece.

Cash also handed out nine assists in the victory.

SAU, now 17-1 overall and 10-1 in the conference, will visit Olivet Nazarene Wednesday.
