Wroblewski scores 25 in win at Trinity International

Kylie Wroblewski scored 25 points and Anna Plumer hit five 3-pointers to lead St. Ambrose to an 80-63 win at Trinity International Saturday afternoon.

Wroblewski finished 11-of-13 from the floor and Plumer was 5-of-7 from beyond the arc as part of a strong shooting performance from the Bees. SAU shot nearly 66 percent from the field and better than 58 percent from 3-point range in moving to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference.

It was Plumer who helped the Bees break away from the Trojans in the second half.

After Trinity International (4-4, 2-4 CCAC) closed to within 41-36 midway through the third quarter, Plumer knocked down three triples as part of a 13-2 run over the next four minutes. Shayne Smith and Madeline Prestegaard also scored during the spurt that extended the lead to 54-38.

Then, with the Bees holding a 56-43 lead entering the fourth quarter, Plumer hit her other two threes, sandwiched around a Smith 3-pointer. Jaynee Prestegaard finished off an 11-4 run with a basket for a 67-47 lead to effectively seal the victory.

Smith was 7-of-12 from the field in scoring 15 points. She matched Wroblewski with six rebounds and handed out a team-leading six assists.

Jaynee Prestegaard chipped in with 11 points and five boards. Madeline Prestegaard scored eight and Avari Everts added four. Maddy Cash collected four rebounds and four assists.

St. Ambrose will take a break from conference play with a game at Lincoln Christian next Saturday.
