Prestegaard leads four Bees in double figures in win at Lincoln

Jaynee Prestegaard scored 21 points and three other Bees each scored 12 as St. Ambrose defeated Lincoln College 76-63 Saturday afternoon.

Prestegaard finished 9-of-13 from the field, and also added seven rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots and a steal in the victory.

Madeline Prestegaard, Mel Stewart and Sarah Goldensoph each scored 12 to help SAU move to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the CCAC.

SAU led 21-16 after one quarter, pushed the advantage to 36-28 at the half, and broke things open by outscoring Lincoln 18-13 in the third. The Bees shot nealry 48 percent from the floor and limited the Lynx (2-7, 1-5 CCAC) to a 38-percent mark.

Along with the solid shooting, St. Ambrose was able to overcome 26 turnovers by out-rebounding Lincoln 51-38.

Madeline Prestegaard grabbed a team-best nine rebounds and also blocked a pair of shots. Stewart rejected three shots as the Bees blocked nine as a team.

Anna Plumer scored eight points and pulled down six boards. Maddy Cash added six points and eight rebounds. Goldensoph, who was 5-of-6 from the field, also grabbed eight boards. Presley Case handed out seven of SAU's 24 assists.

The Bees will visit No. 13 St. Francis (Ill.) Monday.
