Bees drop doubleheader at Keiser

St. Ambrose dropped a doubleheader by scores of 9-2 and 3-0 at Keiser Wednesday afternoon.

The Bees weren't able to make an early run hold up in the first game.

Shai Erdrich beat out a bunt single to lead off the game and stole second. With two outs, Becca Haag got a base hit to center to give SAU a fast 1-0 lead. That lead didn't hold up. Keiser struck back by scoring six runs on five hits in the bottom of the first. The Seahawks added two more runs in the second to go in front 8-2. Haag scored the final Bee run when she doubled and ultimately came around to score on a wild pitch in the sixth.

Erdrich, Haag and Reagan Engberg each had two of St. Ambrose's eight hits. Erica Ralfs and Taylor Martyn also had hits.

Leah Maro took the loss Emilee Erickson struck out seven while allowing just one earned run over five innings in relief.

Ralfs lost a tough pitching dual in the second game. She allowed just two earned runs while striking out five in a complete-game effort.

Keiser put up two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth. St. Ambrose managed just five total hits, one apiece from Erdrich, Engberg, Paige Kirkman, Ralfs and Liz Garcia.

SAU will conclude its Spring Break trip with a doubleheader at Florida National Friday.
