Ralfs named CCAC Pitcher of the Week

CHICAGO --- Leading their respective teams to perfect records during the seven-day stretch from April 24-30, University of St. Francis' Danielle Callahan (New Lenox, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Erica Ralfs (Davenport, Iowa) have been bestowed with the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference softball weekly awards for 2023. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

Ralfs used a pair of complete-game shutouts to land CCAC Pitcher of the Week recognition. The senior struck out 17 batters over the combined 14 innings, while scattering just 11 hits. She also walked only four batters.

Ralfs' first blanking came last Tuesday in a 2-0 win over Cardinal Stritch University. There, 13 of her 21 outs registered came on strikeouts, while yielding just five hits.

On Thursday, she produced the 5-0 shutout of Indiana South Bend on a six-hitter with four strikeouts.

Besides those numbers in the circle, Ralfs batted .500 at the plate and collected at least one hit in each of the four games.

The Fighting Bees finished the league season 12-8 to net the No. 5 seed in this week's CCAC Tournament, where they enter with an overall 25-23 mark.
