St. Ambrose recognizes three on Senior Day

Between games of its doubleheader against Roosevelt Saturday afternoon, St. Ambrose recognized its three seniors—Maria Provenzano, Kayla Stenger, and Erica Ralfs.

Unfortunately, the Bees dropped both games of the doubleheader by scores of 3-2 and 5-2.

In the first game, Erica Ralfs pitched four innings, giving up five hits and two runs. She also struck out five. Emilee Erickson was tagged with the loss, just giving up one earned run over three innings.

In the fourth inning, the Bees were able to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Alyssa Schumacher reached on a fielding error allowing Shai Erdrich to score. Two batters later, Ralfs got a single which Schumacher scored on to extend the lead to two. Stenger would also add a double in the sixth inning.

Roosevelt would push across the winning run in the top of the seventh to steal the win.

In the second game, Roosevelt pushed across four first-inning runs, and that proved to be the difference.

Shai Erdrich collected two hits in the second game including a triple in the first inning and a bunt single in the fifth. Eryn Cornwell also added a single in the seventh inning.

Erickson was tagged with the loss, and Kayla Roemer threw five scoreless innings in relief.

The Bees are in action next on Sunday when they travel to Indiana South Bend before returning home for their regular season finale against Cardinal Stritch next Tuesday at St. Vincent's.
