Rudd, Jung compete at NAIA Cross Country Nationals

St. Ambrose seniors Nolan Rudd and Matt Jung took on the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Friday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash.

Both runners rounded out their senior campaigns with some historic effort. Rudd crossed the finish line at 26:21 to finish in 63rd while Jung finished in 278th with a time of 28:27.

Rudd's 63rd-place finish is the fourth-highest finish at Nationals in St. Ambrose history, with only Jay Jennessee and Judd Allbaugh finishing higer than Nolan. Jung is one of only five cross country runners in St. Ambrose history to qualify and compete at the NAIA Nationals for four-straight years.

Rudd and Jung will turn their sites to the oval as indoor track season will begin in two weeks on Dec. 4.
