Bees roll in win over Waldorf

The St. Ambrose wrestling team defeated Waldorf 37-14 on Wednesday evening. Of the seven matches the Bees won, six of them resulted in bonus points.

Jake Alexander won via forfeit at 133 pounds to give the Bees a 6-5 lead after two matches. At 141 pounds, Guiseppe Guerra secured a 16-1 tech fall victory to extend the lead to 11-5 for the Bees. St. Ambrose trailed 14-11 at intermission, but that was the final time that they would be behind. The Bees would sweep the final five matches.

At 165 pounds, Diego Machado secured a pin just one minute and 20 seconds into the match. Jayden Terronez also earned a first-period pin at 174 pounds, securing his fall with just eight seconds left in the first period. At 184 pounds, Dylan Meiners was dominant in his 15-0 tech fall win. Tyreese Johnson won his 197-pound match by decision, winning 9-4. At heavyweight, Abdullah Razzak capped off a dominant St. Ambrose performance with another first-period pin.

The Bees are next in action when they travel to Orange City, Iowa, on Feb. 3 to take part in the Northwestern Raider Duals.
