Bees compete in Missouri Valley Invite
The St. Ambrose wrestling team continued its season on Saturday as they competed in the Missouri Valley Invite.
At 165 pounds, Diego Machado secured a pin less than two minutes into the match to win his opener. After dropping his second match, Machado responded with three wins in the consolation bracket. His first win was a 4-1 decision victory in sudden victory. His second victory was a 19-4 tech fall and he won his next match by decision 7-5.
At 174 pounds, Jayden Terronez also racked up a few wins of his own. After receiving a first-round bye, it took him just 1:23 to secure a pin in his second-round match. After dropping his next match, Terronez responded with a pin in 30 seconds and a major decision win before falling in the consolation quarterfinals.
Also competing in the Invitational for the Bees were Steele Dias (125), Isaac Martinez (133), Guiseppe Guerra (141), Reese Finch (149), Slade Dias (157), Dylan Meiners (184), Jeremiah Morris (285), and Abdullah Razzak (285).
The Bees are next in action on Wednesday as they travel to Forest City, Iowa, for a dual meet against Waldorf.
