Bees drop dual to Augustana
St. Ambrose had a lead for the duration of the dual Wednesday evening, but it wasn't enough in a 23-19 defeat to Augustana.
The Bees jumped out to an early 9-3 lead with Steele Dias earning a victory via disqualification at 125 pounds, and Guiseppe Guerra winning via decision 12-6 at 141 pounds. After Augustana won at 149 pounds, Riley Woods swung the momentum back in the Bees favor with a win at 157 pounds. Trailing 3-0 at the time, Woods was able to secure a takedown of his own and turn that into a pin.
At 174 pounds, Jayden Terronez dominated from beginning to end earning a 13-1 major decision. After the 174-pound match, the Bees took a 19-10 lead. Augustana would go on to win the final three matches of the dual.
The Bees are next in action when they travel to Beatrice, Neb., to take on Southeastern Community College next Wednesday.
