Daniel Terronez and his nephew Jayden Terronez will take the mat for St. Ambrose at the 2023 NAIA Wrestling Championships for the first time Friday. The two-day event is being held at Hartman Arena in Wichita, Kan.
Daniel will enter the 149-pound bracket with a 22-12 record following a third-place showing at the Heart of America Conference Championships. He will open against Cole Luallen of Reinhardt, the No. 12 seed.
Jayden, an NAIA national qualifier for the second straight year, has a 24-15 record and was runner-up at 165 pounds at this year's Heart Championships. Jayden is seeded 14th and will face Bridger Hall of Providence in the first round.
