Bees roll in Senior-Night win over Yellowjackets
The St. Ambrose wrestling team defeated Graceland by a score of 31-6 Wednesday night in the WRC. The Bees never trailed in the match and were able to win four of their matches via bonus points.
Before the dual, SAU recognized two seniors on Senior Night - Chris Bridges and Daniel Terronez.
Steele Dias opened the scoring with a 11-5 decision win at 133 pounds. At 149 pounds, Daniel Terronez scored a 12-4 major decision to give the Bees four more points. After that, St. Ambrose was able to secure three first-period pins.
Diego Machado secured his pin at 157 pounds 1:27 into the match, Jayden Terronez got his at 165 pounds with 15 seconds left in the first period, and Chris Bridges secured his pin less than one minute into the match at 174 pounds.
Thade Gottschalk earned a 10-9 decision win at 184 pounds and Tyler Casey earned a 13-7 decision win at 285 pounds to close out the dual.
The Bees will next compete in the Heart of America Conference Championships in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Feb. 18.
