Bees drop close dual to Vikings
The St. Ambrose wrestling team lost a very competitive dual to Augustana by a score of 24-18 in Rock Island, Ill., Tuesday night. The Bees were able to win five matches on the night, with three of those wins coming via major decision.
Mick Chagnon gave the Bees a 4-0 lead early in the dual with an 8-0 win at 125 pounds. Diego Machado was able to score a 15-2 win at 157 pounds, and Jayden Terronez scored a 14-5 victory at 165 pounds.
Elsewhere, the Bees were also able to grab two other wins by decision. At 149 pounds, Daniel Terronez worked his way to a 5-1 victory and Dylan Meiners scored a 9-7 victory for the Bees at 184 pounds.
Forfeits at 133 pounds and heavyweight allowed Augustana to earn the team win.
The Bees are next in action on Jan. 7 when they head to Mason City, Iowa, for the NIACC Invitational.
