SAU drops duals at William Penn

St. Ambrose returned to the mat for a pair of duals at William Penn Tuesday night. The Bees fell to Central Methodist 29-16 and host William Penn 31-20 to drop to 0-4 on the year.

The Bees won four matches in each dual. Jayden Terronez was the lone Bee to pick up two victories, and both of those came by fall at 165 pounds. Terronez pinned his opponent from Central Methodist in 2:03 and needed 2:47 for his win against William Penn.

Mick Chagnon also won by pin against William Penn. He needed just 2:51 for his victory at 125 pounds. Dylan Meiners earned an 11-0 major decision at 197 pounds and Jeremiah Morris picked up a 13-5 major decision at heavyweight in SAU's other wins over the Statesmen. 

Daniel Terronez claimed a 19-9 major decision at 149 pounds in the dual against Central Methodist. Chris Bridges also earned a 12-0 major decision at 174 pounds. The other Bee victory came from Diego Machado, who earned a 4-2 decision at 157 pounds.

SAU nearly pulled out the win over Central Methodist. Thade Gottschalk dropped a 7-6 decision at 184 pounds and Meiners fell 3-1 in sudden victory at 197.

St. Ambrose will next compete in the Blithe Memorial Duals in Grand Rapids, Mich., Friday and Saturday.
