Fox, Guch named to all-CCAC team

All-CCAC Men's Volleyball Team

Nick Fox was named first team all-conference and Jon Guch was selected to the second team as the CCAC announced its postseason men's volleyball awards.

It marked the second straight year Fox was named first team all-CCAC. The 6-4 middle hitter from Elmwood Park, Ill., led the team with both 265 kills, an average of 2.43 per set, and a .379 hitting percentage during his grad year.

Fox posted double-digit kills in 12 matches and hit at least .400 in 16 matches this season. Perhaps the best match of his career came in the team's regular-season finale on Apr. 9 when he put down 17 kills without a single hitting error in 19 chances for an .895 hitting percentage. That performance helped SAU to a 3-1 win at Viterbo, clinching a spot in the CCAC Tournament.

Fox also led the Bees with 117 total blocks, an average of 1.07 per set. Eleven different times he recorded at least five blocks, including a season-best nine blocks in a four-set win at Roosevelt on Mar. 21.

He finished his St. Ambrose career with 713 total kills, a .351 attack percentage, and second in program history with 385 total blocks.

Guch finished second to Fox with 228 kills this season, an average of 2.07 per set. The 6-3 sophomore opposite hitter from Frankfort, Ill., hit at a .148 clip.

He registered 10 matches with at least 10 kills, including a season-best 18 in a five set match vs. Trinity Christian on Mar. 19. In that match, he had just one hitting error in 33 chances to hit .515.

Guch added 64 digs, 15 aces and 57 total blocks in 2024.
