SAU drops three-setter to No. 12 Jamestown

A challenging first-half of the season continued Friday as St. Ambrose fell to No. 12 Jamestown 25-20, 25-12, 25-16 in Lee Lohman Arena. It marked the seventh time in 17 matches the Bees have faced a nationally-ranked opponent.

Jamestown (9-1) hit at a .458 clip with 42 total kills and just nine hitting errors. The Jimmies hit .500 or better in each of the last two sets.

SAU finished with 22 kills against 15 errors.

Jon Guch led the Bees with six kills. Charlie Flynn had five, Dan Rice four, and Cael Anderson and Ethan Chausse had three apiece. Mikolaj Zielonka had one kill.

Anthony Anderson was credited with 17 of the team's 22 assists. Andreas Indicatti Mariani handed out four.

Ethan Karban had a team-best nine digs. Zielonka picked up three and Anthony Anderson had a pair.

St. Ambrose, now 1-16, will host Morningside next Friday before returning to CCAC action that Saturday at home against Viterbo.
