Fox named CCAC Defensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University's Jake Ostema (Orland Park, Ill.), St. Ambrose University's Nick Fox (Elmwood Park, Ill.) and Cardinal Stritch University's Jake Evanish (Chicago, Ill.) are the latest recipients of men's volleyball weekly awards presented by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The announcement was made on Tuesday morning by the league office.

Fox recorded no less than four blocks in each of his four matches this past week to net CCAC Defender of the Week recognition. His 20 total blocks over 14 sets for the week came out to a 1.43 average. The senior middle hitter also averaged 3.21 kills per set with a .494 hitting percentage.

Fox's biggest defensive effort came on Thursday when he came away with six blocks in a four-set victory opposite Viterbo University. In the same match, he had 14 kills leading to a .565 attack percentage.

Fox also had five-block matches against Trinity Christian College last Tuesday and University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) on Saturday.

St. Ambrose is 4-6 in the league and 5-18 overall.
