SAU ends regular season with win at Cardinal Stritch

St. Ambrose will head to the postseason on a three-match winning streak as the Bees closed the regular season with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-17 win at Cardinal Stritch Tuesday night.

It was the Bees' second win over the Wolves, a team receiving votes in the NAIA top-15 poll, this season.

The two-time reigning CCAC Defensive Player of the Week Nick Fox led the way with a team-high eight kills and seven total blocks Tuesday. He had just two hitting errors in 12 chances.

Jason Bageanis finished with seven kills and Jaylen Clark added seven kills and seven digs.

Skyler Marushige had four kills and Drew Hamlin added three.

Jake Snyder led all players with 30 assists. He also picked up six digs. Avery Clark led the team with eight digs.

As a team, St. Ambrose recorded 33 kills and 19 hitting errors for a .173 attack percentage. Cardinal Stritch (10-5, 7-4 CCAC) had 19 kills and 25 errors for a negative percentage.

The Bees, now 13-13 overall and 7-5 in conference play, will now turn their focus to the CCAC Tournament, which begins with the semifinal round next Monday. The championship match will be played next Tuesday. The entire tournament will be played at Saint Xavier.
